Welcome to Tucson
LOCATION: Dairy Queen
My roommate Hannah and I decided to embark on a Dipped Cone Date after a long, stressful week of school. Obviously, we all know the best way to cure a school hangover is a Dipped Cone. Instead of the typical Golden Arches, Dairy Queen was our intended target this time around.
After placing our order and snapping a few pictures with the two masterpieces, we finally settled down at the red patio table. We mayyyy or may not have received a few weird looks from nearby ice cream go-ers during the photo shoot. Imagine the thoughts running through their heads while two girls take 10 million pictures of a Dipped Cone. No worries, soon they will catch on to the #GetDipped trend and understand...
After the photo shoot came to a close (stay tuned, these pics will be coming to theaters soon), we stumbled upon Ava and her Grand Dad indulging in Cherry Dipped Cones. Of course I had to introduce myself and the #GetDipped concept to fellow Dipped Cone fans.
I was able to learn Ava and her Grand Dad are only visiting Tucson for a week. The two explained how they went to the same Dairy Queen the previous day for a yummy treat: Ava ordered a blizzard while her Grand Dad stuck to his usual Cherry Dipped Cone. After tasting her Grand Dad's Dipped Cone, Ava insisted they go again for a dual Dipped Cone Date. This second go-around was where our paths collided.
I was lucky to meet some new, wonderful people by engaging in conversation and hearing about their story. We spent the next 30 minutes talking while simultaneously battling the Dipped Cone vs. melting race together. The Grand Dad was very excited to hear Hannah and I's stance on the very controversial topic concerning... man buns. Why he was so curious beats me. But, in case you were wondering, he holds an anti man bun stance.
It meant the world to me to impact and be a part of their Dipped Cone experience. After saying our goodbyes, Ava went home with a full tummy and a new sticker reminding her of the Dipped Cone date us four shared together. "It is going straight on my notebook," Ava mentioned. Her excitement made my day.
Ava and her Grand Dad just got dipped at Dairy Queen.
